This one is probably one of my favourite speedpaintings so far. It took around 52 mins, a little longer than the others, but it is fairly large and detailed for a speedpainting.
I've also recently been commissioned to draw a set of 3 sci-fi landscapes for book covers, which I shall hopefully be uploading on here soon.

26th April 13: Daily Speedpaints 2
Next couple of speedpaintings, now in colour! Anywho I'm just going to upload the 'best of' speedpaints on here. The rest can be seen on my blog at Kanizoart.Blogspot.co.uk

23rd April 13: Daily Speedpaints
Here's the first batch of daily speedpaints I've been doing. I've got a whole load of them so far, but I shall upload them in groups like this on here. However they can also be seen on my blog which I am updating daily for the first couple of weeks. The next batch will be in colour!

17th April 13: Art Blog and Daily Speedpaints
I now finally have a blog! Planing on uploading a load of current WIP's, studies, speed paintings and such on there. In fact I'm going to try do a speed painting a day now, but haven't decided yet whether to upload them daily, or have a weekly compilation. All the things that I upload on my blog will still be uploaded on here as well, but in the near future I plan on revamping my site so it is just a portfolio website, so there might not be a use for this front page blog type thing.
Also here is Day 1 of the daily speedpaint. I'll probably update my website weekly with these instead of daily like my blog, but here is the first one anyways.

14th April 13: The Fall
This was supposed to have a really elaborate design, but during the sketch/thumbnail process I liked this pose, showing the back of the wings. However that meant I had to drop most of the original design, and then it kind of just became a painting experiment. Anywho it's a harpy type thing, I'll probably revisit the original design again some time.

11th April 13: Matte Painting
This was actually done back in March, and is my first attempt at a proper Matte Painting. Even though it is really simple, I did learn a lot from this piece, including some techniques which I could use in my other illustations. It was great fun to do, and I'd love to do some more matte paintings in the future, however I shall take some more interesting photos for next time!

16th Febuary 13: SteamPunk Cites
In the center of the city is 'The Heart' which powers the whole city. It's a massive building filled with cogs and other mechanics, feeding the city with hundreds of steam filled pipes.
This SteamPunk city was designed for a friend for their forum/website, which you can check out over here at Procyononline.com. This is actually one of my first attempts at drawing a cityscape. It was a challenge at first but great fun, and I'm really happy with how it has turned out.
I'm also currently working on another cityscape, the sketch can be seen below:

29th January 13: The DeadSisters (Gift Art)
These characters belong to a good friend of mine over on DeviantART (her dA page can be found here.) The 'DeadSisters' are sureal type characters of hers, they have a really interesting concept and story behind them, and I've wanted to draw them for ages.

19th January 13: Edge of the World
First drawing of the year, better late than never! Keep a look out over the next few days, I have quite a bit of art to upload.
There is also a widescreen version of this drawing.

12th December 12: Winter Fox (Screen Print)
Recently I had the chance to do some screen printing. It's great fun, and nice to be able to finally do something personal (since I have only ever done stuff for uni when it comes to screen printing). I wanted a design that was fairly simple, bold and illustrative, it's something quite different from my usual detailed stuff, but I still rather like it. It's a three layered screen print (with the layers shown in the thumbnail next to the final image), printed on A4 off white paper.
I'm also selling a couple of the original prints for £15, so if anyone is interested or wants more information, feel free to e-mail me.

19th November 12: Mapgie
Just having a go at designing human characters (sort of). Initially it was supposed to be just a rough sketch thing, but then somehow this happened. It's not as finished as I would like it to look, and I think there are still a few mistakes. But I'm calling this done for now. I might revisit it again later and maybe try fix and improve it
On a side note, I'm off to New York for a week now!

4th November 12: Practicing Enviroments
Here are just a couple of environments I have done recently. I started the Mountains drawing a while back and completely forgot about it until now, so decided to finish it off. The other drawing was done fairly recently as well, and is quite literally an undergrowth of another place. The tree leaves are so thick that underneath the canopy is a completely different world.

2nd November 12: We Three (Redrawn)
Not long ago I thought about redrawing one of my old illustrations, which soon after I had decided which drawing to do, a competition on DeviantART was announced whereby you had to redraw one of your old works. I decided to enter and in the end I was one of the semi finalist in the competition.
Above shows the original drawing done back in April 2010 and then the redrawn one.

30th October 12: Bunker Animation
Here is my final Uni project animation. This was done back in May/June time and was to accompany the characters I had designed for the rest of the project. As mentioned before, the project was about fear through character design. The original idea was to design a load of characters which would be used in a game, and then an animation that would show a trailer for the game or a snippet of game play. Unfortunately I was running out of time towards the end and had to cut most of my original idea. The animation now just shows the sort of environment the characters live in. However I still wanted to keep the horror and game aspect, so made the animation in first person, and designed a pretty grungy type 'Bunker' as it were.
Despite running out of time, and not having as much stuff in there as I originally planned, I'm still fairly happy with how the animation looks. This was created with After Effects and Photoshop.

17th October 12: New and Improved
As promised my website got a slightly new look! There’s a larger version of the header above, and then the thumbnail below shows a rough example of how I worked on the header with a brief explanation as well. There are more steps to what I've shown here, but it just gives a basic example of what I do.
First is the sketch, however I wouldn't normally work so much on the sketch; sometimes it’s a very rough scribble of what I want it to be, and sometimes there’s no sketch at all. In this case though I wanted to work with the outline, so I refined a rough scribble into that. Next I have a backing colour, this is usually grey if I don’t know what the main colour is going to be (this also makes it easier to use clipping masks, i.e. you don't colour/shade past over the grey bit). Then I've worked out what I want the basic colours to be, and started to add shading and highlights. Instead of having just a darker and lighter colour of the flat colour already there, I chose to work with a dark purple and cream. Next all the details come in; this is worked over the top of the outline. After that there are just a few more details put in, the background finalised, and done!

14th October 12: Runner
Small update. This drawing was done quite a while back, just something simple really, trying to practice a new colouring technique as well. Also my website will be getting a slightly new look soon! And maybe I might also upload my Uni animation.

29th June 12: Final Characters (Part 2)
These are the next few characters done for my Final Major Project. The characters here are about provoking fear in the unknowing, since the viewer may be unsure what they might be looking at. I should also hopefully have the animation I did to accompany these characters up on my site in the next couple of days, stay tuned!

21st June 12: Final Characters
These characters were done for my final Uni project, which was about exploring fear through character design. The rat type thing is about looking more at the gory side of horror. Since a lot of my characters contain some form of anatomy, but mainly skeletons I decided to look at muscles as well. The vulture is about deception and making the viewer look twice, from a distance or first glance it looks like it might look nice, but on closer look it is also some undead character.

16th June 12: Rainbow Horse
This piece was done for uni quite a while back and it's probably one of my favourite illustrations I've done. It never had a proper name at the time, but was nicknamed 'Rainbow Horse' by myself and friends around the course. Since then it has kind of stuck, so I now present, Rainbow Horse!
