03rd December 11: Princelings of the East

I was recently commissioned by Jacky Pett to illustrate a cover for the Kindle Edition of her book, Princelings of the east. It was a lot of fun to do, and a great experience.
You can check it out and buy the Kindle book from here

Also, lots of art and news to come soon! Watch this space.

09th November 11: Kanizo V3.1

Small update for now, just redesigned my website a little. Not much has changed, just the colour scheme, header and a few other small parts, but I think I like this one more now.

General art update will be following shortly.

19th September 11: Walk the Walk

Finished digital peice of the sketch I uploaded last week.
'This young chameleon type lizard thing is a first time hunter, taking on all the advice
he was given on hunting, he mimics a caterpillars movement. However when they say
to copy your preys moves, they don't mean it quite so literally.'

11th September 11: Kanizo V3

Finally gave my site a fresh new look, hopefully should stay like this for a while.
Few things have changed, new layout of course, but I've also added a drop
down menu under Gallery and About. The RSS has been removed for now,
until I can find a way to make it work with GoogleChrome.

Here’s the full view of the header at the top-

And now for a general update:

This was a commission I did a while back for a friend on the dA.
The overall image is inspired by some Indian culture (since the owner of the character likes
Indian art and culture). The patterns in the bushes were inspired by Henna patterns, and the colours
used are from the main colours from Indian clothing and fabrics
(So, bright green, yellows, oranges and red/magenta).

And a bonus piece, here’s a thumbnail for a digital piece I will be working on fairly soon.
Most my ideas start like this, sometimes it is just a scribble on the back of an envelope,
however this time I was able to doodle this in an A5 sketchbook.

14th August 11: -Creative title goes here- Part 2

As promised, the second part update. This time with brighter drawings. In other news, I will be re-designing my website over the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for that too.

Sea Breeze
Just a speed paint, experimenting with colours and shading techniques. Clouds and dragons,
probably one of the best combinations.

Plateau
This is a Kirin type thing, however whilst the front legs are more deer like, the back legs
could represent dragon legs. It's been a while since I spent hours on a drawing perfecting detail.
I am trying to practice drawing quicker, however it's nice to spend hours on one drawing every so often.

First Flight
Trying out a different style, and more bolder poses.

13th August 11: -Creative title goes here-

I will update more then once a month I swear. The good news is I have done lots of work in the meantime, to make up for the long wait. Also because there is quite a bit of art to upload, I will be doing a double update, so check back here again tomorrow or Monday.

Always wanted to draw a canine with a big nose and feet,
plus I wanted to practice fur, so this was drawn.

Again, this was really just a practice drawing things
with a outline (the 2nd image shows the original outline).

Some of you might remember this being show as a WIP
a while back, finally got round to finishing it, though I feel
it could be better. I might redraw this sometime in the near future.
Anywho, about this character:

This guy is called Kovon (Well, that is his unit name, however they have all perished,
so he calls himself Kovon now). He's currently on the enemy's ship,
where a dangerous and unknown virus has broken out and infected the crew
of that ship and now threaten Kovon and the last remainders
of his crew on their own ship.

10th July 11: Few Months Later....

So, I've finished Uni for the summer now, and life is just about normal again.
Here is a very long awaited update:

'X'
A very old character of mine, probably one of my favourites and most developed. I don't want to give too much away, but you -hopefully- will be seeing this character a lot more over the next couple of months.

Hollow Eyes, Twisted smile
A friends character, done for a Kiriban on DeviantART.

Bitter Sweet
This is a type of water Phoenix that lives around salt lakes. It's a very sacred bird to the people who live round this area, however it is rarely seen. It is also said that when it dies it will turn to salt and join the river until its ready to rise from it again.

Finally, please check out my friends website-

She does a whole load of textile designs and patterns and such.
